In 2006, NCRV Television and the gaming platform Gamer.nl, in collaboration with Metropole Orkest, introduced the Netherlands to the first-ever orchestral performances of video game music: Games in Concert.
In an incredibly short time, fellow arranger Tom Trapp and I transcribed, orchestrated, and scored 21 iconic orchestral tracks from legendary games like The Legend of Zelda, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, and God of War. Naturally, we couldn’t leave out a vibrant medley of melodies from Super Mario Bros.
Over the following years, several new editions of Games in Concert were held, where I had the pleasure of contributing large-scale orchestral arrangements, including a symphonic rendition of Tetris and other beloved tracks.
